Whole Grain Recipes
We all know that we should eat more fiber. These whole grain recipes will help you to add more fiber, as well as other important nutrients, to your diet. You may not be familiar with some of these grains, but they are worth learning more about. In fact, some of these grains aren't actually a true grain at all, but rather a vegetable or fruit seed. Because of this, they can be used by those with wheat allergies.

However, I bought some at our local health food store and it is delicious. It is a complete protein and is also a good source of magnesium. This Quinoa Pilaf is delicious as a side dish. Buckwheat - Buckwheat is a good substitute for people with wheat allergies because it is not actually wheat. It contains a large amount of magnesium which helps lower blood pressure. Buckwheat may also help lower to effect on blood sugar. You can use it as a substitute for rice and many people use it as a hot cereal. These Buckwheat Pancakes are a delicious way to get buckwheat into your diet if you don't care for them in cereal. Serve with fruit instead of syrup for the best health benefits. Barley - You may be familiar with barley as it is used in many delicious soups. It is very high in fiber and the nutrient selenium. This Barley Bread is a good accompaniment to soup or a salad.
