Oatmeal with Berries

Looking for a breakfast that packs a nutritional punch? Try oatmeal with berries for fiber and antioxidants to start your day. Don't use instant oatmeal. There isn't as much fiber and some contains sugar. You can choose berries that are in season or use frozen if fresh are not available. This recipe will keep your family full throughout the morning.

1 cup oats
3 cups water
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
6 oz. vanilla lo-fat yogurt
1/4 cup raspberries
1/4 cup blueberries
1/4 cup blackberries
1/4 cup honey

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add oats. Lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Add yogurt, berries, cinnamon and honey. Stir and let simmer 10 minutes more. 4 servings.

You can also add the berries when the oatmeal is finished if you prefer them raw.
