Grey Hair Don't Let Your Hair Tell Your Age
Did you know that your hair may be making you look older? And it isn't just about grey hair. There are several things that you can do to your hair to give you a more youthful appearance. Get a New Style Have you had the same style for years? I chatted with my hairstylist about aging and hair. She mentioned that keeping the same style for years is a sure sign of aging. Ever notice how younger women change their styles more often? In fact, one celebrity hairstylist suggests that women update their look every few months. It can be as simple as parting your hair differently or altering the tone. Go a Little Shorter Long hair tends to pull the face down. Shorter cuts look younger. Choose a current cut, but one that fits your personality. Bangs can help cover wrinkles on your forehead, but don't shade your face. If you do want longer hair, layer it. The layers will lighten the face. But stay away from extremes - either too long or too short.
Get Rid of the GreyAlthough this is just one element, it's an important one. When choosing a hair color, try one that is similar to your hair color as a child but a little warmer. Lighter or brighter colors give a more youthful appearance.
My favorite grey "hare"
Dark hair is okay as long as it is shiny and healthy looking. Adding a few soft and subtle highlights to your hair can also give you a younger look. Be sure that whatever color you choose, it compliments your skin tone. Not sure? Ask you hairstylist for advice on an antiaging hairstyle. There are chemicals involved in hair coloring. Personally, I use a natural hair coloring that I purchase at a health food store. It covers well and uses far less toxic chemicals. If you decide to keep your hair grey, definitely choose a shorter cut. The light bouncy effect will help offset the grey color. Use a Quality Conditioner Mature hair tends to be dryer and coarser than when you were younger. Use a conditioner regularly to help restore moisture. Using a hair protectant in the summer is also a good idea to help your hair stay healthy. Don't Forget Your Brows Your brows should match your hair. If you decide to color them, be sure to let a professional do it. There is less chance of getting chemicals in your eyes. You may want to try a brow wax instead. I prefer this so that I'm not adding more toxic chemicals to my body. These give your brows some color and help unwieldy ones stay in place. Be sure that your brows are nicely arched. Thick bushy eyebrows do not make you look younger. Just For Men People often say that grey hair on women makes them look old, while on men, it looks distinguished. Distinguished or not, it still gives an older appearance. So men, don't be afraid to color your hair if it makes you feel better about yourself. But if you like the distinguished look, by all means keep the grey. Facial hair, especially beards also add years to a person's appearance. If you've always worn a beard, try shaving it off and see if you don't look younger. You can always grow it back if you don't like what you see. If you do have a beard, look for grey hairs. You may need to color your beard if you are coloring your hair. If you are eating right, exercising and taking care of your skin, you are basically working on an antiaging program . Don't let grey or outdated hair add years to your age.
