Fresh Berries

To get the most antioxidants from your berries, be sure that your berries are fresh. These recipes with fresh berries are wonderful when berries are in season. If you can't get fresh berries or it's the wrong season, frozen berries can be used as well.

Mixed Berries
1-cup blueberries
1-cup raspberries
1-cup blackberries
1-cup strawberries
1 cup dried cranberries

Mix together. Use as a snack or sprinkle on cereal or oatmeal.

Fruit Sauce
2 ripe bananas
2 cups strawberries
1 kiwi

Put fruit into a blender and blend to make a sauce. The bananas sweeten and thicken the sauce. You can try other fruits as well. Use on pancakes, etc.

Toss berries into smoothies and shakes, throw them into salad. Eat berries as often as possible for their healthy antioxidants.
