Facial Skin Care Products

Giving yourself a facial? There are many facial skin care products on the market and you can even make your own. The important thing to remember is to use products that contain antiaging ingredients.

You'll find products that claim to be natural. Others have organic ingredients. Still others claim to be the best on the market. We all have different types of skin with different needs. Some skin is more sensitive, while others can use almost anything. But even for those who don't seem to have any special skin care needs, choosing wisely will improve your skin.

Many people have sensitivities to artificial dyes and fragrances. So stay away from those. Alcohol, mineral oil and parabens are other questionable ingredients.

To give yourself a facial, you'll need a cleanser, toner, mask and moisturizer. There are different kinds of facial skin care products when considering masks. There are clay masks, mud masks, peel off, rinse off and moisturizer masks. The choice is yours. My favorite mask is a Sea Mud Face and Body Mask from Arbonne International. But there are other good ones too. Remember to read the labels.

You can also make your own products.

One cleanser is a rose cream cleanser. You can buy the ingredients at the grocery store and health food store. To make the rose cream cleanser, combine 1 tbsp sour cream, 1 tsp rose hydrosol and 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil. Stir well and apply to face and neck areas. This cleanser should be used within 2 days.

You can make your own toner using 1 cup distilled water, 1 tbsp dried green tea leaves, 1tbsp dried chamomile flowers, 1 tbsp rose hydrosol, 1 tbsp Aloe Vera gel and 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar. Heat the distilled water until boiling. Remove from heat and add green tea and chamomile flowers. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and then strain. Add the remaining ingredients and stir or shake well. Store in a clean bottle and use within 3 weeks.

Want to make your own masks? You can use fruit, oatmeal or milk as a basis for your own natural masks. But if you don't want to go to all that trouble or just can't imagine smearing oatmeal on your face, remember to read the ingredients before choosing your own facial skin care products.
