You may be familiar with barley in soup, but try this barley bread with soup for a nutritious change to white bread. One way to improve our anti-aging health is to eat more whole grains and less white flour. This bread is a wonderful accompaniment to a green salad or to vegetable soup.
3 cups barley flour
1 tsp. sea salt
2 1/2 Tbs. baking powder
2 Tbs. honey
1/4 cup olive oil
2 eggs
1 cup milk
Mix together the dry ingredients. In another bowl, combined the honey, oil, eggs and milk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix just until combined. Pour into an oiled pie pan. The batter will be very thick. Spread it evenly in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
