The Antiaging Solution
The Antiaging Solution, published in 2004, was co-written by Vincent Giampapa, M.D., Ronald Pero, Ph.D., and Marcia Zimmerman, C.N. Dr. Giampapa is one of the founding physicians of the
American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine.
Dr. Pero, in collaboration with Dr. Giampapa developed the first anti-aging program that concentrates on DNA repair. The authors outline a 5 step program to stop and even reverse genetic damage and aging. The Chapters Include: Chapter 1 - Finging Your Personal Aging Equation This chapter begins with some self tests that you can perform that will assess your chronological age and your level of health. It then continues with more information on aging. Some of this is rather technical and contains quite a bit of scientific terminology. Chapter 2 - How Aging Occurs If you are interested in DNA and learning how genetics plays a part in aging, this chapter is for you. It is the most scientific part of the entire book. Chapter 3 - Step 1: Reduce Your Stress This is the first step of the antiaging solution. Stress does affect our aging more than we realize. This chapter explains why. It also gives the effects that stress has on our brains and bodies. It then gives some suggestions for reducing stress. These ideas, plus others, can be found on

Chapter 4 - Step 2: Nourish Your Genes We all know that we need to eat healthier. This chapter begins by explaining in detail the effects nutrition has on our bodies and the aging process. It then gives specific tips on
healthy antiaging eating.
Of particular interest is a color coded food list with explanations of why the foods are important. It also includes suggested meal plans to improve your health. Chapter 5 - Step 3: Exercise Your Genes This chapter explains the benefits of exercise but takes a different twist. The authors encourage the practice of movement exercises such as Tai chi, Qi gong and dance as an antiaging solution. They detail various flexibility and stretching exercises for your entire body as well as explaining the difference between anaerobic and aerobic exercise. Chapter 6 - Step 4: Supplement Your Genes This step involves supplementing your diet with nutritional supplements. This chapter is also rather scientific but does give a lot of information on various nutrients and what they do for our bodies. It also gives an extensive list of supplements that we may need. Chapter 7 - Step 5: Make Over Your Skin and Body Another scientific explanation - this time the authors explain hormones and their effects on the body. They also discuss how the sun, nutrition and hormone deficiencies can age our skin and bodies. Suggestions are given for saliva and other self tests that you can have done to check your hormone levels. The book ends with information on anti-aging home testing and supplies questionnaires to assess your progress. Although there is a lot of good information in the book, it is rather technical with much scientific terminology. If you want to know why your body is aging and like detail, then The Antiaging Solution is for you.
