Antiaging Skincare
Antiaging skincare can prevent our skin from looking older. Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body? I never thought about it that way. Sure, I knew that my heart and lungs were organs, but skin? Well sure enough, it is. Some of its functions are to protect our body (and all those other organs inside), regulate temperature and secrete toxins. It's pretty important. So how can we keep our skin looking young (or at least younger)? It only requires two things, prevention and protection. These are the keys to a more youthful appearance. The good news is that only 10% of the visible signs of aging are intrinsic. That means that our skin is just going to age. The
collagen and elastin
decrease and our skin begins to get thinner. After all, matter deteriorates with time. But we can't blame our aging skin on heredity and genetics alone.
The other 90% of the visible signs of aging are actinic. That's just a fancy word that means our skin is aging because of the ultraviolet light from the sun. The sun and other environmental factors combine to give us wrinkles, sagging, discolored and pigmented spots.

So what about those of us who already are showing signs of aging skin? After all, it was the
wrinkles
that shocked me into researching this subject in the first place. You don't have to go far to see and read about all the various antiaging products on the market. We can buy wrinkle creams, eye creams, face creams and creams that will do the dishes. No? Oh well, I was hoping. Antiaging skincare products range from
natural recipes
that you can make yourself to high priced remedies. Any of these may or may not work. To ensure the best results, see that the products contain
anti-aging ingredients.
The cosmetic industry is regulated, but only to an extent. It is important to know what is in our skin care products. That means we need to
read the labels.
One of the functions of the skin is to secrete toxins, so we don't want to be putting toxins on our skin through the very products that we thought were helping. What did I do? I tried several different antiaging skincare products from several different companies. Currently, I use a hydrating wash, a toner, an eye cream, a serum to rejuvenate skin cells and a moisturizer for day and night from
Arbonne International.
Sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. It only takes me about 2 minutes and I definitely have seen a difference in the appearance (or should I say disappearance) of fine lines and wrinkles. Don't get me wrong, once you have a wrinkle it's there for life. You can name it, ignore it or do something about it. Using good antiaging skincare products will diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Of course there's more to antiaging skin care than just products.
Exercise
and
nutrition
also play an important part in looking younger and feeling great. You may have also heard about
facial exercises.
These may be effective, but use caution, they could also give you more wrinkles or make your wrinkles more pronounced. Your best defense is a good offense. Stay out of the sun and use quality antiaging skincare products.
