50 Secrets
of the World's Longest Living People

The book, 50 Secrets of the World's Longest Living People, was written by Sally Beare. She trained as a clinical nutritionist at the British College of Nutrition and Health in London. The author originally published this book under another title, The Live Longer Diet, in 2003. This version was revised in 2006. She has traveled extensively in her quest to find the secrets of anti-aging.

  • Part 1 - The World's Five Longevity Hot Spots - This section consists of five chapters that discuss the living habits of five different people groups. These groups are from Okinawa,Japan; Symi, Greece; Campodimele, Italy; Hunza, Pakistan and Bama, China.
  • Part 2 - The Fifty Secrets - This is the practical part of the book. The author details all of the secrets, each in it's own chapter. The chapters are short and easy to read. She explains why each secret "works."
  • Part 3 - Putting It All Together - The final four chapters explain how to put these secrets into practice. She summarizes the benefits to making some of these life changes as well as some tips for using these "secrets." The last chapter includes recipes from each of the five areas.

I enjoyed reading 50 Secrets of the World's Longest Living People. It was easy to read and gave a lot of helpful information. Much of the information is already on this website as it agrees with most of the antiaging research. Eat more veggies, get more exercise and get rid of stress.

Of course there are lots more tips and specific suggestions for proper nutrition. I would highly recommend this book if you are serious about making changes that will positively affect your health.
